On February 21st, we experienced the Venus-Mars conjunction at 6° Aquarius, and so this week I’d like to take my cues from the sky, and offer you the story of Venus and Mars’s wild affair on Mount Olympus.
Noticing that there was a Venus-Mars conjunction in the sky immediately brought my attention to this story, which I’ve drawn from Ovid’s Metamorphosis, and felt like a wonderful opportunity to model the mythopoetic style of astrology interpretation.
And so, through this exploration, I do more than just tell you a myth, but rather offer insight into my own personal practice of bringing myths into our chart interpretations, or astrological forecasting, to make them more rich, and to help them come to life a little more poetically.
I’ll share the text from Ovid, here, and invite you to tune in to this Mythographer installment with an eye towards the sky, and your own natal charts, to see where this myth influences you right now. Somewhere in your Aquarius house, Venus and Mars are having a party right now. What’s emerging in your own creative, amorous, consciousness? What new desires are breaking through? How can you chase them with bravery and abandon?
